INSURANCE The National Trust for Historic Preservation strongly recommends that all tour participants purchase Trip Cancellation, Emergency Medical Evacuation, Baggage, Accident and Medical insurance for their tour. Upon our receipt of your initial tour deposit, a comprehensive travel insurance plan, underwritten by the Monumental General Casualty Company, will be made available to all National Trust study tour participants. This insurance offers an important, time sensitive feature regarding pre-existing medical conditions: Trip Cancellation and Medical insurance gives you coverage for pre-existing medical conditions (even for immediate family and travel companions) provided (1) you purchase the insurance within 14 days of the date of your confirmation letter from National Trust Study Tours receiving your initial deposit; (2) you insure all prepaid trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions; and (3) you are not disabled from travel at the time you pay your premium. Please call Travel Insurance Services at (800) 937-1387 if you have questions regarding the offering. Also note Academic Travel Abroad will automatically include up to $150,000 air flight accident insurance with each air ticket they issue.
ITINERARY OR PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS While every effort will be made to carry out the program as planned, the program as described is subject to modification and change by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Academic Travel Abroad.
SINGLE ROOMS A limited number of single rooms are available at extra cost on a first-come, first-served basis, but availability cannot be guaranteed. Academic Travel Abroad will assist persons requesting a roommate. However, neither a single room nor a share can be guaranteed. Participants will be notified if we are unsuccessful in finding a suitable roommate. In this case, the single supplement will be charged.
A NOTE ABOUT COST The program price is based on current currency values and group airfare in effect as of June 2006, and assumes an enrollment of 25 participants. While we will do everything possible to maintain the listed price, it is subject to change. If Academic Travel Abroad finds it necessary to levy a surcharge, notification will be given at the time of invoicing (approximately 90 days prior to departure). In any case, the usual cancellation penalties as outlined above apply.
