Charles Dickens

The Law and Social Justice in Victorian England
Location

What better than to immerse yourself in the social order of Victorian England order than to explore Charles Dickens' page-turning tale of suspense, Bleak House, in the ever-fascinating city where it is set? Bleak House is Dickens most fully realized novel, in which he captures the full variety of human experience, combining a panoramic view of society with a gripping story about characters we come to know intimately, Although we hope not to experience first hand, the famous opening description of the mud and fog of London, we do expect to deepen our imagination about the mysteries surrounding orphaned Esther Summerson's origins and an inheritance case mired in the notoriously corrupt Court of Chancery by, so to speak, stepping into their shoes.
