Join Literary Traveler as we embark on a unique literary tour of Ireland.  Explore Irish heritage and scholarly traditions for twelve full days with the founder of Literary Traveler, Francis McGovern.

A grave in GalwayThe Emerald Isle has been producing writers, poets, lyricists and especially storytellers since the dawn of time.  The Seanchi, the Irish word for storyteller, entertained common folk and royalty alike with oral tales of fairies, Celtic warriors and legendary deed-doing, which seem to be long forgotten, yet their stories still survive even today.  In fact, the names of their more recent counterparts are celebrated wherever English and Irish Gaelic are spoken.

Killarney Park Hotel

Be introduced to places that have inspired the ancient Seanchi.  Take a step back in time by visiting the homes and museums of famous authors such as W.B. Yeats and James Joyce.  Find yourself immersed in the actual locations from beloved Irish classics, some of which you may have already read.  Encounter a wide variety of modern characters that will provide a warm literary welcome to the land of wordsmiths.
