Wuthering Heights Tour in Cornwall

Literary Tour Summary Literary Tour Intinerary Request information about this tour About the tour company

Unless one can envision a passion that transcends the grave one cannot begin to understand the love of Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff. And until one imagines a landscape capable of containing such a love is it possible to understand the magnetism of the jagged coast and the history-filled moors of Cornwall.

We will be returning to the south coast of Cornwall, to the unspoiled fishing village of Looe with its pretty old buildings, twisting streets, smugglers taverns and Cornwalls finest restaurants. We will stay once again at the magnificently-situated Trehaven Manor, a gracious stone house offering spectacular views over the ever-changing estuary.

Discussion Leader(s):
Gary Schoepfel is a veteran discussion leader with both Travel Pursuits and Toronto Pursuits. He is currently a faculty member at Harrison Middleton University, a Great Books distance learning institution, and formerly a vice president at the Great Books Foundation. Having fallen in love with Cornwall on his Classical Pursuits visit in 2008, he looks forward to a walk through Brontes masterpiece brought to life by the rugged countryside of southwest England.

Mark Camp is a local Blue Badge walking guide, the highest guiding qualification in Britain. Mark is one of the experts on the undiscovered, off-road treasures in Southeast Cornwall, especially the Bodmin Moor. Mark was our walking guide for our Arthurian trip to Cornwall in 2008.
