This year marks the 25th anniversary of Literary Traveler. We are looking for interns to help us celebrate that milestone and continue our mission of inspiring readers and travelers to explore their literary imagination. (We are giving away a writing award.)
If you dream of traveling and making your living as a writer and you want to put your education and interests together and do something that matters to you? Do you need to acquire experience before you can be great? Are you a blogger or travel fanatic that loves to read the classics and travel the world?
If you have recently graduated and/ or you are in graduate school and looking for an internship in the Boston area (or remotely) then you may be the perfect candidate as an Editorial Intern at Literary Traveler!
What You will gain from an internship with Literary Traveler
An internship with Literary Traveler will provide you with real world marketable skills. You’ll learn first-hand the fundamentals of running a travel website, writing for the web, search engine optimization, and working with advertisers and sponsors. You’ll learn how to package yourself and your ideas and develop your own niche. You’ll get to be part of an extremely positive atmosphere where you’ll receive direct feedback on your writing. Shortly after interning at Literary Traveler, many past interns have secured jobs in the travel, writing, marketing and publishing industries and continue to write today.
Location, Location, Location
As long as you have access to a computer with internet access and a phone, this internship can be completed completely from the comfort of your home.
Responsibilities
You should be interested in writing, the business of online publishing, reading great literature, and travel. Responsibilities include researching editorial projects and contributing content to the website and social media channels under the guidance of our editors.
What are the qualifications for this job?
Be Self Directed
Ability to make a long-term commitment to a project (3 months minimum)
Be available at least 8 hours per week
Major or minor in English / Marketing / Something Interesting you are passionate about.
Have a strong command of punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Possess excellent research skills
